What would you think if a sculptor, in their profile, told you what clay they use, the brand of knives and chisels they use?

What would you think if a painter, in their profile, listed the brand of paint, the stretched canvas, and the types of brushes they use?

I know we’ve all seen so-called photographers who announce, in their profile, that they have an XYZ D900 with XYZ 28-2000 lens (blah, blah, blah). I’m not talking about posting the technical details on an individual photo post; that’s fine. I’m talking about it front and center on their profile. It’s all an attempt to fool the uninformed or those who think, “with that camera I could take good pictures as well.“ I don’t care if you’ve got the latest and greatest $45,000 Hasselblad or a 5 year old iPhone – a great photo is still a great photo. The camera doesn’t take the picture anymore than the brush paints the artwork. It is knowing how to use the equipment. Skill in photography is acquired by practice, not by purchase.
